His clinical practice includes diagnosing and managing conditions such as asthma, COPD, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, breathlessness, and ventilation-related disorders. Dr Singh is also experienced in bronchoscopy, inpatient care and outpatient respiratory clinics. In addition, he has developed and led a dedicated sleep service for many years, with particular expertise in snoring, sleep apnoea, insomnia, parasomnias, sleep terrors and movement-related sleep conditions such as restless legs syndrome. With more than 16 years of experience running specialist sleep clinics, he continues to support adults with complex sleep and respiratory concerns.

He has wide ranging research interests in Sleep disorders, positional sleep apnea , CPAP compliance and new diagnostic and treatments in sleep disorders as well as COPD, Pneumonia and Bronchiectasis.

He provides a home sleep test (with comprehensive report) service. where he provides different types of sleep tests at home, including Watchpat 300 for sleep apnoea and snoring, and Somfitpro for complex sleep issues, which includes EEG and EOG channels.

Dr Singh is a member of the British Thoracic Society and the British Sleep Society, European Respiratory society and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Academic Background

Dr Singh completed his specialist training in respiratory and general medicine through the North West Deanery, working as a specialist registrar across four hospitals between 2001 and 2006. Earlier in his career, he worked as a senior registrar at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.

Dr Himanshu Singh is an esteemed consultant in respiratory medicine and sleep disorders based at Fulwood Hall Hospital in Preston, where he offers outpatient evaluation and treatment for a range of respiratory and sleep-related conditions. Alongside his private work, he has held a longstanding NHS position with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, serving as a consultant physician in respiratory medicine and sleep disorders since 2006. Within the trust, he also acts as associate director for the Physician Associate Programme and has played an active role in medical education in the trust as well as Manchester University.

Dr Singh also serves as director of SoundSleep Clinic UK Ltd, where he provides care for sleep disorders through both in-person and online consultations. Academically, he holds the position of honorary senior lecturer at Manchester Medical School, contributing to teaching, curriculum development and the training of medical students across several hospital placements. He previously served as associate lead for Teaching and Learning for Year 3 at Manchester Medical School.
