Dr Tang graduated in medical sciences from Southampton University. He then went on to complete his clinical studies at Papworth and Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge gaining specialist accreditation in both general medicine and cardiology. Academic achievements include becoming a Member of The Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 1995 and subsequently a Fellow in 2007. Dr Tang's medical training started at Southampton University Hospital and subsequently as a cardiology registrar at Norfolk and Norwich, Peterborough, Papworth and Addenbrookes Hospitals. He was appointed Specialist Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong for two years, where he had training in coronary angiography, pacemaker insertion and echocardiography.
