Mr McCarthy covers Torbay and Exeter Regions and specialises in vascular disease including: Aneurysms, Carotid/Stroke Prevention, Limb Bypass, Diabetic foot conditions,  Varicose veins including all the new minimal invasive techniques. Endovenous Surgery,  Foam sclerotherapy and surgery, Arterial Surgery.

Academic background

Mr Rob McCarthy gained his medical degree from the Royal London Hospital and successfully became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England in 2003. He was awarded the gold medal for FRCS Part 3. He underwent vascular training in the South West and undertook research at the University of Bath and was awarded a MSc Degree.

With a wealth of experience and knowledge Mr McCarthy has written numerous peer reviewed journals in all aspects of practice. During his free time Mr McCarthy enjoys golf and is a keen rugby supporter which includes watching his son who plays regularly.
