I have been the President-Elect of FORTE and an executive committee member. FORTE is a large, international educational organisation representing European orthopaedic surgeons in training. I am a double fellowship-trained knee surgeon and completed the Soft Tissue Knee Fellowship and Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship at Wrightington.

Academic Background

I graduated from the Medical University Graz in Austria, earning my MD in 2006. After gaining international experience in Switzerland and South Africa, I moved to the UK and completed comprehensive orthopaedic training on the Mersey Rotation.

I have focused the latter part of my training on the knee as my sub-speciality. This culminated in securing two advanced competitive fellowships at Wrightington Hospital, focusing on Sports Knee Surgery and Lower Limb Arthroplasty. Wrightington Hospital is a renowned world-class specialist centre and has been peer-elected as one of the best specialist orthopaedic hospitals in the world.

I obtained multiple national, exam-based qualifications, including Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (FRCS Tr & Orth), and CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.

More recently, I obtained a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, which broadened my knowledge of treating and rehabilitating sports injuries around the knee.

I was awarded international orthopaedic diplomas from SICOT in Montreal, Canada (Diploma examination of the Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie) and FEBOT in Lisbon, Portugal (Fellow of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology).

Additionally, I completed an MSc in Musculoskeletal Science with Distinction from the University College London and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) at Stanmore. The RNOH is a top-rated specialist orthopaedic hospital in the world.

As a result of my academic activity, I won multiple prizes, published numerous papers, and gave over 50 presentations at national and international meetings on five continents. For my research, I was nominated for the best paper prize in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the best poster prize in Dubai, UAE.
