Mr Sri Ganeshamurthy Thrumurthy is a Consultant Surgeon and Interventional Endoscopist at King’s College Hospital, London. He graduated with Honours from the University of Manchester, obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in his first year as a doctor, and subsequently Membership of the Royal of Physicians (MRCP). He subsequently completed his higher surgical training across South London, and was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England.

Mr Thrumurthy successfully completed an Advanced Endosurgery Fellowship under Mr Amyn Haji and Professor Bu Hayee at the world-renowned King’s Institute of Therapeutic Endoscopy (King’s College Hospital, London), before being appointed as Consultant Surgeon in the same department. He has a keen interest in medical education and training, and is the editor of a number of medical and surgical textbooks, including the Oxford Handbook of Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery and the upcoming Oxford Handbook of Endoscopy. He is recognised as a Trainer by the British General Medical Council (GMC), as well as an accredited Endoscopy Trainer by the UK Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG). He serves as Course Director for the Basic Surgical Skills Course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England). He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London (KCL).
