Mr Saleh is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital based at the Bedford Unit and is the Cataract Surgical Lead. He has an honorary contract with the Luton and Dunstable Hospital and draws regional referrals for: General ophthalmology (Red, itchy or painful eyes, blurred vision, Blepharitis, conjunctivitis and other conditions), cataract surgery, refractive procedures (Including Multifocal Intraocular Lenses), lacrimal surgery including endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy, dry eye, watery eyes, Periocular lumps and bumps (chalazion, stye, papillomas and skin blemishes), Eyesocket rehabilitation, Eyelids and orbital trauma, Thyroid Eye Disease, Abnormal eyelashes, Reconstructive eyelid surgery and skin grafts, Eye Conditions, cancer, Non-cosmetic oculoplastic surgery Eyelid tumours and cosmetic work.
He specialises in the following areas of cosmetic surgery: Blepharoplasty – upper and lower lid removal of the bags (both skin and non-scar approaches), Fillers and chemical peels – to the eyelid and surrounding facial areas. Surgical and non-surgical eyelid, brow and oculofacial rejuvenation including: Lid malpositions (droopy eyelids, excess skin, in and out turning lids), Periocular lumps and bumps (chalazion, stye, papillomas and skin blemishes).

Academic Background
Mr Saleh qualified in Medicine from Imperial College, London and underwent basic specialist training in Ophthalmology in the London and the East Anglia Regions before completing his higher specialist training at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He was awarded the Gold Medal as the most distinguished candidate for the clinical and surgical ophthalmic Fellowship Examination. During his undergraduate studies he was awarded the highest first class distinction for his BSc.
Mr Saleh undertook an extended subspeciality fellowship in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital focusing on conditions such as lid lumps, tumours and malpositions, watery eyes and lacrimal problems along with orbitofacial cosmetic surgery and rejuvenation. He has lectured widely both at national and international levels on peri-ocular facial plastics and cataract surgery. George Saleh heads up several research teams investigating eye surgery and has published widely in the field along with receiving grants and awards for work on eyelid surgery, cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy, watery eyes, general ophthalmology amongst others.

Mr Saleh has published scientific articles on many areas relating to the eyelid and surrounding tissue including tumours, reconstruction, trauma, lumps, malposition, investigations and surgery. He is the primary investigator for ongoing studies investigating novel diagnostic methods in evaluation of watery eyes. He is the lead on a National Collaboration investigating tumours of the eyelid and surrounding tissues.
Mr Saleh is the regional lead for the Intraocular Lens Study Group (a multicentre collaboration) currently running the Multifocal IOL trial. He is the UK lead on the International Council of Ophthalmology's Cataract Assessment Taskforce through which he has worked in developing cataract tools being adopted in many parts of the world. He is the primary investigator in the International Simulation Study for virtual reality cataract surgical training. Mr Saleh heads up several teams investigating novel technologies relating to eye surgery and has received grants for work on eyelid surgery, cataract surgery, general ophthalmology amongst others.
