Septorhinoplasty

Septorhinplasty surgery usually takes one to two hours and is performed under general anaesthetic.

Either an ENT or plastic surgeon who is experienced in rhinoplasty can perform the surgery.

Your recovery from this procedure is individual to you and will depend on your age, health and extent of your procedure.

You should be able to go home on the same day.

If you had packing in your nose, it is usually removed the next day. Your surgeon will remove the splint and strapping after a week.

You should stay off work and away from groups of people for two weeks to avoid catching an infection. Also, refrain from strenuous activities for two weeks.

Most swelling and bruising will usually have settled after the third week. It may take many months for the final appearance to develop.

Your healthcare team will advise you of any additional recovery guidance.

The cost of this procedure will depend on the extent and the exact type of surgery you require as well as your Ramsay hospital of choice.

You will receive a formal quotation price for your procedure after your consultation with one of our expert ENT surgeons and following any required tests. This formal quote for your surgery will be valid for 60 days and includes unlimited aftercare.

The costs of septoplasty surgery, when medically necessary, are covered by most medical insurance policies. Cosmetic rhinoplasty is not usually covered by insurance. When having septorhinoplasty, the functional septoplasty component to alleviate breathing problems may be covered by your insurance plan. We advise you to check directly with your insurance company and obtain their written authorisation before your procedure.
