Rivers Hospital wins 4th place in top UK healthcare poll.

Health Care 100 logoThe Rivers Hospital in Sawbridgeworth has been named as one of the top healthcare employers in the UK.  The hospital was honoured in the Healthcare 100, organised by national magazines Nursing Times and Health Service Journal.

The Rivers was awarded 4th place in the poll, which is judged by the views of employers and their staff, and analysed by leading research firm Ipsos MORI.  The poll was open to all healthcare providers nationwide, including the whole of the NHS and independent healthcare providers.

The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, one of the sponsors of the awards, said: ‘a good employer and good people management means better safety and quality of care’ for patients.

Richard Parsons, Regional Director based at the Rivers Hospital, said: “Making 4th place in the top 100 list is a tremendous achievement.  We have an excellent workforce at the Rivers and constantly receive good feedback from our patients, but it is an additional honour for our staff to be recognised at national level.”

The Rivers is owned by Ramsay Health Care and has benefited from ongoing investment in the quality of facilities for staff and for patients. Ramsay has recently committed £3.5M to further development at the Sawbridgeworth site.  Local building company Courtenay Builders, based in Gilston, have been awarded the contract to develop the site.  Building is currently in progress for a new day-case facility, additional operating theatre, high dependency rooms, pre-admission suite and improved chemotherapy facilities.
